A guide on incorporating and utilizing third-party Cordova plugins in Ionic 5

Attempting to implement this plugin in my Ionic 5 application: https://www.npmjs.com/package/cordova-plugin-k-nfc-acr122u

I have added the plugin using cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-k-nfc-acr122u but I am unsure of how to use it. The plugin declares:

enter image description here

I have attempted to use the connect function but it is not working. enter image description here

package.json https://i.sstatic.net/KCPo0.png

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Answer №1

To incorporate the KNfcAcr122U plugin, you can import it from cordova-plugin-k-nfc-acr122u into your component after importing in app.module.ts.

Next, declare a private variable in the constructor:

private kNfcAcr122U : KNfcAcr122U

Then, in your function:

this.kNfcAcr122U.connect()

and

this.kNfcAcr122U.disconnect()

Answer №2

I managed to figure out the solution on my own, and I hope it can help someone else out too.

 import { KNfcAcr122U } from 'plugins/cordova-plugin-k-nfc-acr122u/types';

Firstly, I declare:

 const kNfcAcr122U: KNfcAcr122U = window['KNfcAcr122U'];

Next, I use the connect function:

kNfcAcr122U.connect(this.callbackSuccess, this.callbackError);

callbackSuccess(event): void {
  console.log(event,'success');
}

callbackError(): void {
  console.log('error');
}
