Assign a value to a date field in Aurelia

            <input class="" type="date"  id="Broken" value.bind="dateval">

The current value of dateval is 2021-04-08T10:05:19.988Z. Is there a way to set a default date for the date input field above?

Answer №1

  1. To utilize an html date input, the value must be in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD' rather than an iso string.

  2. When loading the component, assign any desired value to the variable dateval where the stored value is located.

If an ISO string is necessary for the date, consider exploring value converters for assistance in achieving functionality.
