Can you guide me on how to record a value in Pulumi?

According to Pulumi's guidance on inputs and outputs, I am trying to use console.log() to output a string value.

console.log(

);

This code snippet returns:

Consider flipping the process:

rdsCluster.masterUsername.apply(name =>
  console.log(`>>> Username:`, `hello${name}world`));

The function will execute once the result is determined and will display the output then. Keep in mind, it might not trigger if the value is uncertain.

To properly log the value, make sure to use the apply() function. Check out this code snippet demonstrating how it's done with an example from an S3 bucket:

bucket.arn.apply(arn => console.log(arn))

Keep in mind that pulumi provides its own set of logging functions for capturing engine values and resources:

bucket.arn.apply(arn => pulumi.log.info(`bucket arn: ${arn}`, bucket))

When implemented, you'll see results similar to the following output:
