Create Angular file structures effortlessly using a tool similar to Rails scaffold

Is there a code generator in Angular similar to RoR's rails scaffold? I am looking to run a specific command and receive the following files, such as:

*.component.html

*.component.sass

*.component.ts

*.module.ts.

Answer №1

Step-by-step guide to installing Angular CLI: npm install -g @angular/cli

After installation, you can do the following:

ng generate component MyStuff

This command will generate the following files:

my-stuff/my-stuff.component.ts
my-stuff/my-stuff.component.html
my-stuff/my-stuff.component.css
my-stuff/my-stuff.component.spec.ts

Alternatively, you can also use:

ng generate module MyStuff

Which will create:

my-stuff/my-stuff.module.ts

In addition to these commands, Angular CLI can perform other tasks such as running tests, setting up a development server, and even creating a new project from scratch.

Answer №2

ng generate (or ng g) is the go-to command for creating new elements in Angular development. To illustrate, let's say you want to create a new component:

ng generate component my-component

By running this command, a directory named my-component will be generated and populated accordingly.

Other useful commands include:

ng generate directive my-directive
ng generate pipe my-pipe
ng generate service my-service
ng generate class my-class
ng generate guard my-guard
ng generate interface my-interface
ng generate enum my-enum
ng generate module my-module
