Discovering how to specify the type of a dynamically created object using 'for await' in TypeScript

for await (user of users) { ... }
Encountered an issue: "error TS2552: Cannot find name 'user'. Did you mean 'users'?" Appreciate your assistance.

Answer №1

It seems like you have something similar to this:

const accounts = [1, 2, 3];

(async () => {
    for await (const account of accounts) { }
})()

In this scenario, there is no necessity to explicitly specify the type of account const as TypeScript can deduce the type.

If you prefer to still define the type explicitly, you can assign your variable before the for loop:

const accounts: any[] = [1, 2, 3];

(async () => {
    let account: string;
    for await (account of accounts) { }
})()
