Since updating ionic and cli, I have been encountering the net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED error every time I try to call a Rest API on my physical android device.
This issue was resolved through the following steps:
Initially, I inserted the code snippet below into the config.xml
:
<edit-config file="app/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml" mode="merge" target="/manifest/application" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
<application android:usesCleartextTraffic="true" />
</edit-config>
Next, the following lines were added to
/resources/android/xml/network_security_config.xml
:
<access origin="*" /> <allow-navigation href="*" />
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<network-security-config>
<domain-config cleartextTrafficPermitted="true">
<domain includeSubdomains="true">yourdomain.com</domain>
</domain-config>
</network-security-config>
Furthermore, the modifications were made to the config.xml
within the widget located inside the <platform>
for android.
Lastly, the commands
ionic cordova platform rm android
and ionic cordova platform add [email protected]
were executed.
