Exploring SVG Graphics, Images, and Icons with Nativescript-vue

Can images and icons in SVG format be used, and if so, how can they be implemented?

I am currently utilizing NativeScript-Vue 6.0 with TypeScript.

Answer №1

When it comes to displaying vector graphics, I find that using an icon font is the simplest method. Personally, I utilize the plugin nativescript-fonticon in combination with Fontello for generating the font. Fontello allows you to upload custom icons and specify their unicode values.

Here are some helpful hints:

  • Make sure to format your icon css classes like this:
    .your-icon-name:before { content: "\f80b"; }
    to ensure recognition by the plugin
  • You may need to adjust the vector files as detailed and ensure consistent height settings
  • Keep in mind that on Android, your icons will scale based on the device's font size
