Having trouble loading my Angular 2 application on Plunker correctly

Link to Plunker 1 encounters an issue with the following error message:

zone.js:323 Error: Error: XHR error (404 Not Found) loading http://run.plnkr.co/XaKTrrlcPIlCBySj/node_modules/rxjs/index.js(…)

Link to Plunker 2 is facing a different error:

angular2-polyfills.js:349 Error: Cannot read property 'prototype' of undefined(…)

I'm currently at a standstill and unsure how to proceed... can anyone offer assistance?

Answer №1

You are encountering an HTTP 404 error message that indicates the server could not find the requested resource.

The HTTP 404 or Not Found error is a standard response code used in network communications to signify that the client successfully connected with the server, but the server was unable to locate the specified content.

When a user clicks on a broken or dead link, the web hosting server usually displays a "404 Not Found" webpage, making it one of the most common errors seen on the Internet.

This specific error is related to the server's inability to find the resource at this URL: http://run.plnkr.co/XaKTrrlcPIlCBySj/node_modules/rxjs/index.js.

Since this error is generated by the server's response code, it cannot be resolved by the client.

When working with SystemJS, it is recommended to update your configuration like this:

map: {
  app: "./src",
  '@angular': 'https://cdn.com/@angular',
  'rxjs': 'https://cdn.com/<a href="/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection" class="__cf_email__" data-cfemail="91e3e9fbe2d1a4bfa1bfa1bcf3f4e5f0bfa7">[email protected]</a>'
},

This adjustment is necessary because there is no node_modules folder in your plunkr...

You can refer to this sample plunkr for guidance: https://plnkr.co/edit/Qdm8GFsD5Rh1ioJV6jQM?p=info.

The Angular team has provided a template for RC versions as well: http://plnkr.co/edit/tpl:AvJOMERrnz94ekVua0u5?p=catalogue.
