Is it possible to enable typescript to build in watch mode with eslint integrated?

Can this be achieved without relying on webpack or other bundlers?

Alternatively, is the only solution to have two separate consoles - one for building and another for linting?

Answer №1

It seems inevitable that both 'tsc -w' and linting will need to run as separate processes. The linting process can be carried out in a second terminal, within your IDE, or incorporated into your build script. Regardless of the method chosen, it will still add an additional layer of processing.

Does this adequately address your inquiry?

Answer №2

For example, you can start by running the following command: npm install tsc-watch --save-dev. After that, make sure to update your package.json file with the necessary scripts:

"scripts": {
   "lint": "eslint . --ext .ts",
   "serve:reload": "npm run lint && node ./dist/index.js",
   "serve": "tsc-watch --noClear --onSuccess \"npm run serve:reload\"",
