Issue TS2345: Cannot use type 'Product | undefined' as an argument for type 'Product[] | PromiseLike<Product[]>'

Having trouble retrieving my products using their IDs

You can find the code here

Answer №1

It seems like there is a mismatch in your data types.

The constant productfound will either be of type product or undefined, while the return type you have specified is product[].

These two types do not align with each other.

A potential solution could be to modify the return type to product, as it is a getById operation after all. You are anticipating only one item to be returned, so using an array may be unnecessary.

I am unfamiliar with working with promises, so please inform me if you are able to resolve this issue.

Stay well and best of luck in tackling this challenge.
