Mistakes following update to Angular 4 from Angular 2

After upgrading from Angular2 to Angular4, I encountered these errors in the CLI. While my app continues to function after the upgrade, I am curious about possible solutions to resolve these errors. Any suggestions?

Answer №1

Ensure your @angular libraries are up to date, along with all required dependencies. Consider using npm-check-updates for a streamlined upgrade process. Here's how:

Step 1. Start by installing npm-check-updates:

npm i -g npm-check-updates

Step 2. Upgrade all dependencies with the following command:

npm-check-updates -u

@EDIT: Alternatively, run this command for the latest version of npm-check-updates:

ncu -a

Step 3. Install the updated dependencies:

npm install

Answer №2

Consider updating your Compiler CLI to ^4.0.0:

Your current compiler version is 2.4.0:

"@angular/compiler-cli": "^2.4.0",

Note: To see the correct structure for your package.json file, you can create a new project using

ng new test-project --skip-install
and examine the package.json.
