The command "tsc" is not identified by the Windows command prompt

After installing typescript globally, I encountered an error when running tsc -v stating that 'tsc' is not recognized as an internal or external command. Can anyone offer advice on resolving this issue? Thank you.

Answer №1

To globally install TypeScript, follow these steps:

> npm i -g typescript

For Windows users, after installation, locate the tsc command file in C:\Users{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\npm.

If the tsc command is still not working in the terminal, add the path C:\Users{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\npm to your environment variables.
