Tips for bringing in a named item in Typescript from a module

Attempting a method like the following:

export var common = {}

resulted in an issue when trying to import it using:

import {common} from "./Common";

The value of common ends up being undefined.

Answer №1

Experiment with

import * as utility from './utility'

By doing this, you are importing the entire object into the identifier -utility-. If you were to import the property utility from the module, it wouldn't work because that property doesn't exist.
