Tips for creating a window closing event handler in Angular 2

Can someone guide me on how to create a window closing event handler in Angular 2, specifically for closing and not refreshing the page?

I am unable to use window.onBeforeunLoad(); method.

Answer №1

Here is an alternative approach:

import { HostListener } from '@angular/core';

@HostListener('window:beforeunload', ['$event'])
unloadHandler(event) {
    // Prevents the user from navigating away without confirmation
    return false;
}
