Unable to locate the reference for 'bootstrap'

After trying to implement Bootstrap toast in an Angular Component, the following error message is displayed: "Cannot find name 'bootstrap'"

Here is the HTML code similar to the Bootstrap documentation:

<div class="toast" role="alert" aria-live="assertive" aria-atomic="true">
  <div class="toast-header">
    <img src="..." class="rounded me-2" alt="...">
    <strong class="me-auto">Bootstrap</strong>
    <small>11 mins ago</small>
    <button type="button" class="btn-close" data-bs-dismiss="toast" aria-label="Close"></button>
  </div>
  <div class="toast-body">
    Hello, world! This is a toast message.
  </div>
</div>

Snippet of the Angular TypeScript file:

      ngOnInit(): void {
    const toastTrigger = document.getElementById('liveToastBtn')
    const toastLiveExample = document.getElementById('liveToast')
    if (toastTrigger) {
      toastTrigger.addEventListener('click', () => {
        const toast = new bootstrap.Toast(toastLiveExample)

        toast.show()
      })
    }
  }

It appears that the bootstrap library has not been imported or initialized anywhere in your code. This results in a error as typescript compiler is unable to locate it. To resolve this issue, you can import Toast directly from bootstrap and use it without the bootstrap prefix:

import { Toast } from 'bootstrap';

After importing, you can create a new instance of the toast like this:

const toast = new Toast(toastLiveExample)

Additionally, you may need to install the typings for bootstrap by running @types/bootstrap
