Ways to create a method that can be overridden

Is there a way to declare a virtual method in TypeScript?

I'm attempting to achieve something similar to the following:

export abstract class SuperClass {

    public virtual enable(enableComponents: boolean): void {

    }
}

Answer №1

When using typescript, it's important to note that there are no specific keywords like virtual or override

Check out the documentation for more information

class X {

    public activate(activateItems: boolean): void {

    }
}

class Y extends X{

    public activate(activateItems: boolean): void {

    }
}

A subclass can have a method with the same name as its parent class, but the execution depends on the object being called
