Ways to extract the final digit from a format such as an IP address in JavaScript

Is there a way to retrieve the last digits 192.168.1.180
For instance: From the IP address 192.168.1.180, I would like to extract 180.
Thank you in advance

Answer №1

If you have an IP address stored as a string, one way to extract specific parts is by using the split function.

let ip = "192.168.1.180";
let lastPart = ip.split(".")[3];
// Extracting the last part of the IP address

console.log(lastPart)

Answer №2

Example:

const ipAddress = '10.0.0.123';
const lastOctet = ipAddress.split('.')[3];
console.log(lastOctet); // '123'
