What is the best way to center align the placeholder in an ion-input field?

What is the best way to center align the placeholder in ion-input?

Here's a screenshot of my current ionic input fields with left alignment.

I've attempted to move the alignment to the center, but I've been unsuccessful. Can someone please provide me with the correct solution? Thank you!

Answer №1

To center align the placeholder text in your CSS file, simply add this snippet to your tag.

Snippet:

<ion-input type="text" placeholder="Enter text here"></ion-input>

Code:

ion-input::placeholder{
    text-align: center;
}

Give it a try and see if it works for you!

Answer №2

To customize the styling of input placeholders, inspect the element classes using your browser's developer tools. Make the desired changes by adding the following code to your CSS file:

.native-input::placeholder{
  text-align: center;
}

If you prefer not to apply this style to all inputs on the page, you can use a specific class in your HTML file like so:

.my-input .native-input::placeholder{
  text-align: center;
}
