When the route is changed, the system must execute a function to verify the authenticity of the token

When routing changes in Angular, I have a requirement to execute a function based on whether a valid token is set or not.

Is there anyone who can assist me in achieving this task?

In Angular 1, I used to accomplish this using $on.

Answer №1

To secure routes or execute a function when transitioning between routes, you can utilize the CanActivate feature. A basic example is provided below:

import { Router, CanActivate } from '@angular/router';

export class AuthGuard implements CanActivate {

constructor(private router: Router) { }

canActivate() {
  return true //or false
}
}

For more information, refer to the official documentation

Steps to Implement:

  1. Implement the AuthGuard Service as demonstrated in the code above.
  2. Add the AuthGuard to providers (app.module.ts file).
  3. This will trigger the canActivate method whenever there is a route transition.

Assumptions:

  1. Routes have already been registered with appModule.
