Can auto-import be configured in WebStorm without using double dots?

Is it feasible to configure WebStorm for automatic import of

modules/Component/components/MyComponent
instead of using ../MyComponent?

Answer №1

When working with the path modules/Component/... in your project, make sure it is relative to the root directory where the tsconfig.json file is located or the root specified using baseurl. To simplify this process, go to Settings | Editor | Code Style | TypeScript | Imports and enable Use paths relative to tsconfig.json. If that doesn't work for your setup, you may need to define specific path mappings directly in the tsconfig.json file.
