Guide on including source-map-loader in vue.config.js

Oh, the struggles with vue.config.js!

I've been at it for hours now, trying to figure out how to add source-map-loader to vue.config.js...

Here's my attempt:

module.exports = {
    chainWebpack: (config) => {
        config.module
            .rule('source-map-loader')
            .test(/\.(js|map)$/)
            .use('source-map-loader')
            .loader('source-map-loader')
            .enforce('pre')
            .end()
    },
}

Despite running 'vue inspect --rules' and checking the default rules, my custom settings seem to be ignored.

Answer №1

Give this a shot:

config.module
    .rule("source-map-loader")
    .test(/\.js$/)
    .enforce("pre")
    .use("source-map-loader")
    .loader("source-map-loader")
    .end();

The placement of your enforce call needs adjustment. Additionally, make sure you are only testing for files with the .js extension, as outlined in the official documentation.
